Discovering Your Health-Promoting Diet

A Vital Link In Your Health Stewardship Program

You are the only one that can determine what you should be eating. Keeping in mind that almost all processed foods are lacking in nutrients, you must listen to what your body is telling you. But you cannot hear what your body is trying to say as long as you are polluting it.

The quickest way to determine what should be included in your diet and what should be eliminated or avoided, is to keep a Diet Journal.

The Diet Journal should include when, where and what you ingest. Write down how it makes you feel and why you like to eat it.

After a few weeks you will see patterns emerging. Some foods make you feel good and others make you feel bad. Some only bother you in large quantities. Others you can't even smell without effect.

In addition to the Diet Journal, read every label. Just seeing that a package has a mile long label will encourage me to put it back on the shelf. Especially avoid any partially-hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup in your foods. Just say, "Death!" Try to stay on the outside aisles in the grocery store. If you have a whole food store near you, buy organic products as much as possible, especially items that you leave the skin on.
